5 Injured in Holmdel Accident Friday

Five people were injured in multi-car accident on Rt. 34 Friday morning in Holmdel, according to multiple reports.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Roberts Rd. just before 9 a.m. Rt. 34 was shut down in that area for several hours as a result.

The accident involved a Toyota Prius driven by a 65-year-old woman and a Mazda CX-9 driven by a 69-year-old woman, according to News 12 New Jersey. The two cars collided head-on.

The owner of the Prius reportedly owns a nursery nearby.

Several people were injured and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance.
