5 Things To Do This Weekend In Monmouth County

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Hello there, neighbors! It's the last weekend of February, and we've found some fun and exciting events happening all over Monmouth County this weekend.

Let Us Play, MCHA Museum, Freehold: The Let Us Play exhibit runs until Feb. 27 and features every child related article in the Association’s collection, many on display for the very first time. From the colonial era through the 20th century, the exhibit traces the evolution of play and the effect the industrial revolution, consumerism and the influence advertising had on children’s ideas of fun and their beloved toys.

Lusitania’s Legacy, InfoAge Science and History Museums, Wall: On Feb. 26 between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. the museum will premiere the last cut of Lusitania’s Legacy, a film created and produced by expedition.

Yesterday Once More—Remembering The Carpenters, Count Basie Center for the Arts, Red Bank: Jillian Rhys McCoy and her 10-piece band pay tribute to The Carpenters, one of the most commercially successful duos in America, on Feb. 26 at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $15-$35. Join Jillian and her band members in celebrating the music.

Cutting, Splitting and Hewing, Historic Longstreet Farm, Holmdel: Come out to Historic Longstreet Farm and get warmed up by using a two-man saw and splitting wedge. Learn how farmers used old tools to cut wood and build items. This event is only open to adults.

Movie Night Food Festival Virtual with Chef Rob, Facebook Live, Monmouth County: Join the Monmouth Count Library virtual event on Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. Head over to the library and pick out your favorite movies and books then, join Chef Rob to make tasty snacks for a night of family fun.
