5:30 A.M. Drug Raid of Keansburg Home, Police Report

Raid yields 90 bags of heroin, as Keansburg police continue their crackdown on the borough's heroin problem.

Keansburg, NJ - Four people have been arrested in the past month in Keansburg as part of the police department's crackdown on the heroin problem in the borough, with two of the most recent arrests just this past Friday, in an early morning raid.

After a month-long investigation, police raided a home at 96 Washington Avenue at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, where they found nearly 90 bags of heroin. Jose A. Beniquez, 40, and Megan Williamson, 32, were arrested and charged with possession of heroin, which police say they intended to sell throughout the Bayshore area.

On Tuesday, March 29, Tariq Elliott, 31, of Keansburg, was arrested after he was found with 87 bags of heroin on him. And two days after that, on Thursday, March 31, a motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of Thomas Rehders, 26, of Sea Bright, because he was found with 52 bags of heroin on him.
