6 Candidates To Run For 3 Open Hazlet Township Council Seats
Democrats Kevin Lavan, David Personette and Lucille LoSapio versus Republicans Peter Terranova, Robert Preston and James Cavuto.

HAZLET, NJ — Monday was the deadline to file for the upcoming primary election in June. Six candidates have announced their intention to run for three open seats on the township council.
Lucille LoSapio, David Personette and Kevin Lavan filed as Democrats for the town's three open council seats.
- Lucille LoSapio – running for a 2-year unexpired term
- David Personette – running for a 3-year full term
- Kevin Lavan – running for a 3-year term
Personette previously ran for a seat on the township council last year.

Lavan previously served as Mayor of Hazlet Township and was a 2011 Democratic candidate for District 13 of the New Jersey General Assembly.

Peter Terranova, Robert Preston and James Cavuto filed as Republicans for the town's three open seats.
- Peter Terranova – a 2-year unexpired term
- Robert Preston – a 3-year term
- James Cavuto – a 3-year term
In New Jersey, the primary election for 2022 will be held on Tuesday, June 7. The winners will receive their party's nomination for the general election, which will be held on Tuesday, November 8, and will include independent candidates.
Voters have until May 17 to register for the primary election.
