6 Cases Of Fraud Last Week, Harassment: Manalapan PD Blotter

MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from March 23-29.

On Tuesday, March 29, at 2:41 p.m., a 44-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor(s) attempted to withdraw $2,000.00 from the victim’s bank account, and in the past six (6) months, an unknown actor attempted to open up three credit cards in the victim’s name. No monetary loss was reported as a result of this incident. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report.

On Tuesday, March 29, at 9:20 a.m., employees of the Battleground Country Club, located at 1 Covenhoven Road, reported that sometime between 2:30 p.m. on March 28, 2022 and 8:00 a.m. on March 29, 2022, an unknown actor(s) damaged several windows and a door to one of the company’s buildings. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano handled the report.

On Tuesday, March 29, at 8:20 a.m., a 73-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown actor(s) dumped items into a dumpster located at a Countryside Court residence. It is unknown when the incident occurred. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the initial report.

On Monday, March 28, at 8:55 p.m., a 43-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that unknown actor(s) fraudulently added three phone lines and purchased two (2) iPhones & one (1) iPad utilizing the victim’s Verizon Wireless account. The total value of the items fraudulently purchased was $3,799.97. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report.

On Monday, March 28, at approximately 6:49 p.m., an 18-year-old Manalapan resident reported receiving a harassing phone call. The victim was advised of the procedure to sign complaints. Sergeant Phil Accatatta took the report.

On Sunday, March 27, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Kia Bailey, a 36-year-old, unmarried, female resident of Bronx, NY, who is employed as a home health aide, turned herself in at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters regarding a warrant that was issued for her arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1,000.00. Ms. Bailey was processed and released after posting bail. Officer Jean Letts handled the report.

On Sunday, March 27, at approximately 12:37 p.m., a 31-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported receiving harassing text messages. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report.

On Saturday, March 26, at 4:22 p.m., a 51-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that unknown actor(s) attempted to open a Verizon Wireless account in the victim’s name. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report.

On Saturday, March 26, at 3:00 p.m., Patrolman Matthew Porricelli took custody of Devin Kennedy, a 29-year-old, unmarried, male resident of Hightstown, who is employed as a supply specialist, who was arrested by the Howell Township Police regarding a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court (no bail amount set). Mr. Kennedy was subsequently transported Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail. Patrolman Matt Porricelli handled the report.

On Saturday, March 26, at 7:56 a.m., a 30-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown actor(s) breached personal and business checking accounts belonging to the victim during a three-week span in March. An unknown actor transferred over $2,000.00 to other unknown accounts as well as utilized the resident’s identity in an attempt to open a new credit card and apply for a personal loan. Patrolman Dennis O'Brien handled the report.

On Thursday, March 24, at 4:56 p.m., a 68-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported that an unknown actor gained access to the victim’s e-mail and removed money from the victim's accounts in the amount of $1,400.00. Douglas Zike handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Thursday, March 24, at approximately 4:46 p.m., a 34-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported receiving harassing text messages from two unknown numbers on March 23, 2022. Patrolman Mantas Stanionis handled the report.

On Wednesday, March 23, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a 49-year-old Manalapan resident reported that unknown actor(s) removed a package containing $458.47 worth of merchandise from the porch of a Justin Way residence sometime during the day. Patrolman Matthew Meyler handled the report.

On Wednesday, March 23, at approximately 5:03 p.m., a 51-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported being harassed by a 51-year-old Morganville resident. Patrolman Matthew Porricelli took the report, which is pending the signing of complaints.

On Wednesday, March 22, at approximately 8:28 a.m., employees of a Park Avenue business reported that sometime between 5:10 p.m. on March 22, 2022 and 8:00 a.m. on March 23, 2022, unknown actor(s) damaged a vehicle belonging to the company while it was parked at the business. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
