7 Hospitalized Following Crash On GSP In Holmdel: Police
The multi-vehicle collision occurred early Monday morning, according to police.
HOLMDEL, NJ — A multi-vehicle collision on the Garden State Parkway has left seven people hospitalized in Holmdel, said New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota.
Six individuals were standing on the Garden State Parkway near milepost 116.8 when they were hit by a vehicle, Slota said.
Investigation revealed that around 3:15 a.m. an Acura MDX was involved in a previous collision and became disabled while driving southbound in the local lanes. The Acura's driver and five passengers all exited the vehicle and stood on the road, police said.

A GMC Sierra driving then collided with the rear of a Hyundai Elantra, causing the Hyundai to collide with the Acura, which then hit and injured all six pedestrians, Slota said.
The names of the adult victims have not been released as of Monday afternoon.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the Hyundai and four of the pedestrians were seriously injured, while two were moderately injured. All seven victims' conditions have not been made public.
The crash is still considered an active investigation, Slota said.
