Once emergency personnel arrived at the home, they found that all residents had safely evacuated the house, which was fully engulfed in flames.

The Holmdel Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by several surrounding fire departments, including those from Morganville, Hazlet, Matawan, Union Beach, and Belford.

Holmdel First Aid also assisted at the scene, providing medical treatment to several firefighters who sustained minor injuries and experienced heat exhaustion, police said.

In total, five firefighters were brought to local hospitals for evaluation.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation by the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office and the Holmdel Township Fire Official.

"Holmdel First Aid would like to thank our mutual aid partners — Hazlet First Aid, Keyport First Aid, Marlboro First Aid, and MedStar — for providing additional ambulances and EMTs to assist with the response," the squad said in an online post.

"We are grateful for the cooperation and teamwork of all agencies involved in keeping our community and first responders safe."
