Mosquito Control Treatment Planned In Hazlet & Holmdel: See Where

The treatment will take place in select neighborhoods after West Nile virus activity was detected in Hazlet and Holmdel.

HAZLET, NJ — The Monmouth County Office of Mosquito Control has detected West Nile virus activity in Hazlet and Holmdel, township officials recently announced.

As a precautionary measure, truck-mounted mosquito control operations are scheduled to take place in select neighborhoods on Tuesday between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.

These operations will take place in residential areas bounded by:

The product used for these operations is Duet, which will be applied via Ultra Low Volume (ULV) sprayers mounted on pickup trucks.

The application will take place during the early morning hours to target peak mosquito activity while minimizing public exposure, officials said.

While ULV applications use extremely small amounts of product and pose low risk to human health and pets, Hazlet Township officials advise that residents in the spray zones may choose to take these extra precautions:
