Annual Holmdel Township Salary Ordinance Up for Vote on March 3

Municipal workforce rates set for full time and part-time workers, as well at those paid hourly and via stipends.

A salary ordinance fixing salaries and wages for full-time, part-time, hourly workers and those receiving stipends will be up for vote by the 5-member Township Committee at its next meeting. The salaries and wages would be effective Jan. 1, 2011.  The public is invited to comment.

It was introduced and passed on Feb. 3, and tabled for vote at the last meeting on Feb. 17 after Committeeman Larry Fink said he needed further information from the Administrator's office, in part because his own research showed that three current base salaries exceeded the maximum amount proposed in the ordinance.

The legal notice says employees would have 15 paid holidays per year, and that negotiated agreements with certain departments may include provisions for additional compensation for longevity, college credits attained, holiday pay, detective pay, vacation pay and lead man responsibilities.

The payments,  when added to the basic compensation, would remain within the ranges of salaries set forth in the ordinance.

These are the salary ranges, as published by the township clerk on Feb. 9 in the public notice section of the Asbury Park Press:
