Attempted Holmdel Home Burglary Reported Friday Morning: Police

HOLMDEL, NJ - Holmdel police are warning residents to secure their homes after a home burglary was attempted Friday morning.

The attempted break-in occurred around 5 a.m. in a neighborhood off Everett Road near CR 520, Holmdel police said in a statement.

“Subjects were unsuccessful because the home was secured properly,” police said.

Three subjects driving a black or dark-colored SUV tried to enter the home through a back door, though the homeowner was home at the time and heard the attempt, police said.

The individuals then fled the area in the vehicle, police said.

“Please remember to lock your vehicles, take your keys, and secure your homes,” Holmdel police added.
