Auditions Announced for New Theater Group's First Show
The Garden State Players will begin with a musical comedy.
The new theater group called the Garden State Players will hold auditions for their first musical production on Saturday, October 22nd from 11 am - 5 pm at the Cullen Center, 1776 Union Avenue, in Hazlet Township.
The show is called "The Ever After." The musical brings the happily-ever-after of beloved fairytales into the future -- with a talk show host, occupational therapist Jiminy Cricket and comical infomercials. It features the songs "Beauty Impaired" and "Dainty Do-Gooder."
The Garden State Players held a fundraiser on Sept. 7 at the Red Oak Diner, with karaoke and a gift auction. Fifty guests attended and the group raised nearly $350.
