The Ballad of Holmdel Township

a Holmdel accountability poem.

At Holmdel Hall, the cameras glow,
While real town work moves impressively slow.

At Planning Board, the truth broke through,
The sewer plant got no review.

A pipe near water? “Don’t make a fuss.”
The poles grow taller than all of us.

With poles in place, residents made their case,
Town Hall found outrage — too late to save face.

The school bus coughed, the school budget went splat,
Town Hall cried “taxes flat!” — our tax bills laughed at that.

Dispatch got blessed with “radio TBD,”
Then residents asked, “Where’s the due diligence, please?"

Town Hall gasped, “How dare you complain?
That’s anti-Holmdel! Please stop using your brain!”

When residents came to the public forum,
Town Hall somehow misplaced its quorum.

The gavel hid, the chairs sat bare, And courage sent regrets: “Can’t make it there.”

Leadership now is a selfie parade,
With election-timed press releases carefully staged.

So here’s the fix, and it isn’t taboo:
Less “look at me.” More “we checked it for you.”

Celauro and Emma bring a different tune,
Less photo-op sparkle, more work by noon

They ask the hard questions before the deed,
That’s the kind of leadership Holmdel needs.

Vote for Celauro/Emma - 5E/4E on June 2.

Former Holmdel Deputy Mayor
