HAZLET, NJ — The Bertucci's brick-oven pizza restaurant on Rt. 35 in Hazlet has closed.

It will be converted into a Costco gas station, the Asbury Park Press reports. There is a Costco Wholesale Club in that same shopping complex.

It was Costco that originally asked Hazlet Twp. if they could take over the Bertucci's lot and build a gas station there, according to the report. In April of last year, troubled chain Bertucci's declared bankruptcy, but the company said it would try to keep many of its locations open.
