Event Details
HOLMDEL, NJ - October 29, 2026 — The Holmdel Theatre Guild, Holmdel High School’s student drama club, is proud to announce its upcoming fall production of Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice, with music by Wayne Barker, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. A Tony Award-winning prequel to Peter Pan, the play upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan boy comes to be the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up.
From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair, as well as the bonds of friendship, duty, and love. Featuring a fast-paced ensemble of actors who use boundless imagination and theatrical ingenuity to bring ships, shipwrecks, and magical islands to life, the show offers a funny and spellbinding night for theatregoers of all ages.
The show features a cast and crew of over 40 students across grade levels at Holmdel High School. “Peter and the Starcatcher is a fun piece of ensemble storytelling,” said Director Jim DeVivo. “It relies heavily on inventive teamwork and imagination. Our students have worked hard to bring this magical world to life, and it’s going to be a funny and heartwarming adventure for our entire community!”
Peter and the Starcatcher will be presented on November 19, 20, and 21 at 7:00 pm in the Holmdel High School auditorium. The estimated run time is 2 hours, 15 minutes including intermission. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, and $5 for students. Seating is general admission. Tickets may be purchased online at http://holmdelvpa.booktix.com or at the door.
