HOLMDEL, NJ — A school bus carrying seven children from the Village School got into an accident Wednesday morning in Holmdel, police reported. However, it remains unclear if the snow was to blame, as the accident occurred when another driver suffered a medical episode while driving and drove into the bus head-on.
The school bus had just picked the children up from the Village School, which had an early dismissal today due to the snow. None of the children were injured, but both drivers were injured, one seriously enough to require hospitalization.

Upon arrival, police discovered a silver Chevy Impala driven by a 68-year-old Holmdel resident had been traveling east on Rt. 520. The vehicle left its lane of travel, entered into the westbound lane, and struck the school bus head on. The school bus had just picked up seven children from Village elementary.
