Car Turns on Side Wednesday Morning in Hazlet Accident

Hazlet, NJ - Traffic was backed up Wednesday morning on Rt. 35 after a two-car accident occurred on the roadway near Poole Avenue, Hazlet Township police said.

The crash happened at 7:53 a.m., Hazlet police told Patch. A 2007 grey Chevy Malibu T-boned a 2004 red Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing the Jeep Cherokee to turn over onto its side.

Fortunately, injuries were minor to both drivers involved, and both drivers refused medical attention at the scene, police said. There were no passengers in either vehicle. Air bags were deployed in the Chevy Malibu, police said. The driver of the Malibu was issued a summons, police said.
