Child Hurt In Hazlet Accident Still In Hospital, Mom Released: Police

Monmouth County Prosecutors Office says the daughter in a stroller hit by a car is in stable/serious condition; investigation is active.

HAZLET, NJ — The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office has updated the conditions of a mother and child injured in a pedestrian accident last week on Route 36 in Hazlet.

The mother was released from Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel last last week, Chris Swendeman, public information officer, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, said Tuesday.

Her daughter remains in stable/serious condition at the hospital, he said.

The investigation is still active at this time, he said.

As of Tuesday, no summonses have been issued in the incident, he said, and authorities have not identified the driver of the vehicle.

The mother and her young daughter in a stroller were hit by a car on Route 36 south at about noon Thursday, Sept. 8, between Laurel and Palmer avenues, police said.

The accident remains under investigation by the Hazlet Township Police Department, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and The Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team.
