Child Pornography Found On Laptop Of Holmdel Man: Police
Michael Mezzina, of Holmdel, was arrested on Tuesday, March 29, according to Holmdel police.
HOLMDEL, NJ — The Holmdel Police Department arrested a Holmdel resident in connection with the possession of child pornography, on Tuesday, March 29, police said.
Michael Mezzina, of Holmdel, was arrested and is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a hearing.
The Holmdel Police Investigation, which began on February 9, was led by Detective Andrew Kret, who is also assigned to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Kret discovered that Mezzina had given his laptop to a Best Buy in Holmdel for data transfer to a new laptop, police said.
As a result of that transaction, the Holmdel Police Department obtained the computer and a search warrant for it. With the help of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Kret discovered numerous photos and videos containing child pornography on Mezzina's laptop.

“Holmdel Police would like to thank Best Buy and their staff for their help in this investigation,” police said.
The date of Mezzina's initial hearing has not yet been announced.
