Citizen Police Academy In Monmouth County Kicks Off In Sept.

The five-week course is open to residents over the age of 14 and will focus on the different roles of modern-day law enforcement agencies.

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — There is an upcoming Citizen Police Academy/ Law Enforcement Mini Academy being held by the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office, starting on Sept. 23.

The five-week course is open to residents over the age of 14 and will focus on the different roles of modern-day law enforcement agencies, as well as the role of citizens in assisting those agencies in the war against crime and terrorism.

  • Analyzing a Crime Scene
  • Distracted Driving
  • Opioid Awareness
  • Internet Safety
  • Women in Law Enforcement
  • Career Opportunities with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office
  • Monmouth County Correctional Institution tour
  • CERT Team demonstration
  • STARS Building tour including simulator demonstrations
  • K-9 team demo
  • Sheriff’s Public Safety Center tour
  • Volunteer Opportunities with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office.

Sessions will be on Thursdays from 5:30 to approximately 7:30 p.m. at the Monmouth County Sheriff Public Safety Center, which is located at 2500 Kozloski Rd., Freehold, and in two other locations to be announced. Graduation will be on Oct. 21.
