“A class of students at the middle school has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the virus. As per Monmouth County Health Department protocol, the individual, smart support staff and the class of students will now be quarantined for 14 days," Ridley said.
“Please be aware that no one, including the individual who tested positive has shown any symptoms, and we are following these in-place procedures simply as a precaution and to do what is best for our students and staff.”

Ridley said that he has spoken directly with the Monmouth County Health Director, who has “applauded our immediate and comprehensive reaction to this situation.”
Hazlet students returned to in-person instruction on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The individual has – and will not be – identified for privacy reasons, according to the superintendent. Should the situation evolve, the district will follow up appropriately.
