Colts Neck Resident Named Head Of NICU, Chief of Neonatology
Dr. Diane Attardi was recently named medical director and chief of neonatology at Monmouth Medical Center's Regional Newborn Center.
COLTS NECK - Colts Neck resident Dr. Diane Attardi was recently named chief of neonatology and medical director of Monmouth Medical Center’s Hirair and Anna Hovnanian Foundation Regional Newborn Center, which includes the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Attardi touts 27 years of experience in neonatology and 21 years at Monmouth Medical Center. The veteran doctor earned her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine and completed a residency in pediatrics at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. She completed fellowship training in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She holds board certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
“Dr. Attardi is an integral part of Monmouth Medical Center’s pediatric residency program and is cited as one of the reasons that so many of the hospital’s pediatric residents have chosen neonatology and matched at fellowships across the country,” the hospital said in a news release. “She took the reins of MMC’s top-rated NICU from Dr. Susan Hudome, who retired in July after serving as medical director of the NICU since 2006.”
