Boys Varsity Soccer: Colts Neck Takes Win Over Holmdel
Holmdel Varsity Soccer loses to Colts Neck 2-1.

The Colts Neck Varsity Soccer Team traveled to Holmdel for a Saturday afternoon soccer game at Roggy field and got to board the bus for the return trip happy, as they defeated the Hornets 2-1.
Holmdel got on the scoreboard first and fast when senior midfielder Menos Hiras scored for the Hornets in the first three minutes of the game. He shot the ball low from about the 25 yard line and it slid into the right corner of the goal.
Yet the visiting Colts Neck team was not to be silenced that easily. About 7 minutes later, the Cougars equalized on a corner that was kicked in for the goal by Kevin Colonna. The rest of the half was a back and forth battle until the Hornets, with seconds remaining on the clock, sent the ball into the net off a corner kick. That goal was waived off by the referee, who indicated the half had expired prior to the score.
