The free community education program will be available to help keep kids engaged in learning in the summer with the help of high school tutors ready to assist with any summer packets assigned by teachers.

“This program helps give kids a strong start to the school year,” said Alicia Maresco, director of volunteer and community partnerships for the center. “When children see progress, it’s a tremendous confidence builder, which is an achievement in itself,” she said.

The program is another way the Y is helping to close the achievement gap, which refers to barriers related to learning, particularly during the summer break.

Registration for the summer program is required. Please call 732.497.3811 or e-mail familysuccess@cymca.org.
