A trucker who pulled up to deliver a shipment of toilet paper to the Hazlet Costco last week said he was cheered by crowds.

HAZLET, NJ — A trucker who pulled up to deliver a shipment of toilet paper to the Hazlet Costco last week said he was cheered and applauded by crowds like he was "a celebrity."

The story was reported in TheTrucker.com, a trade magazine for the trucking industry. Shoppers that day were lined up around the block at the Hazlet Costco.

Chuck Small, a truck driver who lives in Massachusetts, said he jumped out of the truck and announced, “I’ve got your toilet paper!” and everyone in line started clapping and cheering, he told TheTrucker.com.

“What a feeling that was to have everybody clap. That must be what a celebrity goes through,” Small said. “It is usually, ‘Park over there and we’ll call you when we’re ready for you.' I felt kind of wanted, and like I’m doing something."
