Luckily, Holmdel police were able to prevent what could have very easily turned into a Labor Day weekend tragedy.

Holmdel, NJ - On Saturday night, Holmdel police were able to prevent what could have very easily turned into a Labor Day weekend tragedy.
At 2:27 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4, Holmdel police patrolman Christopher Broglia was in his squad car when he saw a silver Chevrolet sedan driving north in the southbound lanes of Highway 35. The Chevrolet ran through a red light at the intersection of Laurel Avenue, almost hitting two other cars in the process, Broglia said.
The officer pulled the car over as it continued traveling in the wrong direction. The operator, 29-year-old Joseph D. Burns of Moorestown, NJ, was subsequently placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was taken to Holmdel police headquarters and later released with a pending court date.
