DUI Checkpoint in Hazlet Friday Night

Here's where and when police will be pulling drivers over:

Hazlet, NJ - The Monmouth County DWI task force will be running a DWI checkpoint this Friday, Aug. 19 in Hazlet, police announced Thursday. The checkpoint will run from 11 p.m. Friday through 3 p.m. Saturday on Hwy. 36.

Hazlet police will pull vehicles from the eastbound lanes into the Holy Family Church parking lot to determine a driver’s sobriety, said Brielle Police Chief Michael W. Palmer, the county's task force coordinator. There will also be a checkpoint set up from 9 p.m. Saturday through 1 a.m. Sunday on Ocean Avenue and Monmouth Beach.

Hazlet is one of the 158 towns statewide that received extra funding to run DWI patrols from now through Labor Day.
