Are you an incumbent? Currently appointed (as of May 3) to fill a vacancy by former mayor and committeeman Scott Aagre
Party affiliation: Republican
Family: Wife, Jacqueline; son, Matthew: daughter, Nicole
Education: Graduate of Raritan High School and Lincoln Technical Institute
Occupation: Certified auto technician for Malouf Chevrolet/Cadillac the past 16 years
What are the top issues currently facing your town and how do you plan to address them:
- Storm water concerns throughout the township. We have conducted evaluations and are in the process of formulating a plan to begin dredging these creeks. We are also seeking assistance from the county and state with this issue.
- Our town is in need of upgrading our parks throughout town. An initiative has begun as we get ready to give 8th Street Park a long overdue facelift. We will then evaluate which park will go next.
- Looking to help improve and recruit volunteers to help aid our struggling fire and first aid quads that are in dire need of assistance serving the township of Hazlet.
Identify specific goals or ideas you have to enhance life in your town:
- Expand on our road program to provide everyone in Hazlet the roadways they deserve.
- Rectify the overwhelming growth and fire load on our Natco Lake trails to ensure the safety of all homes in the immediate area.
- Give Hazlet more without burdening with more taxes.
What in your experience or background prepares you for election to office:
Past fire chief of Hazlet Fire Department, past president of North Centerville Volunteer Fire Company, past fire commissioner and treasurer for 11 years.
