Five Arrested in Keansburg Heroin Raid

Two of the women arrested Sunday night had a nine-year-old boy with them, police said.

Five people were arrested Sunday night in Keansburg, and two of the women collared had a 9-year-old child with them.

Police seized 459 decks, or folds, of heroin, as well as cutting agents and packaging agents used to distribute the drug, police announced Monday.

The raid, led by Keansburg Patrolman Bryan King, took place at a home on Crescent Street at about 7:30 Sunday evening, Nov. 29. According to Keansburg police, the five arrested were:

1. Jessica Cedeno, 36, of Keansburg, who was wanted on contempt of court warrants issued by the Sea Bright, Hazlet/Matawan and Middletown municipal court. She was charged with heroin possession, among other charges.

2. Clifton Hughes, 38, an Arizona resident, who was charged with heroin possession, among other charges.

3. Michelle S., 37, of Crescent Street, who was charged with similar drug charges, as well as endangering the welfare of a child. Her 9-year-old son was with her during the arrest.

4. Kathleen S., 30, also of Crescent Street, was charged similarly to Michelle. (Last names have been redacted to protect the boy’s identity.)

5. Sean Waterman, 35, of Keansburg, was charged with heroin possession, among other charges.

The boy was turned over to family members, and the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency was notified of the incident, said police.
