Daughter of 9/11 Victim and Holmdel Resident Pays Tribute to Victims at Gala

Singer Francesca Picerno set to pay tribute to her father and other victims of 9/11 at gala benefitting Tuesday's Children

Unquestionably, one of the biggest tragedies of modern times were the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, which not only took the lives of many innocent people but will have an affect on the victims’ families for years to come. But the entire mission of a non-profit family service organization, Tuesday’s Children, is to promote healing to those impacted by 9/11.

And, on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, singer Francesca Picerno of Holmdel, NJ (the daughter of bond broker Matthew Picerno, who was one of the many killed in the Twin Tower attacks) will be paying tribute to her father and the others lost that fateful day, when she performs at “Roots of Resilience - A Gala Benefiting Tuesday’s Children,” at the Conrad Hotel (located on 102 North End Avenue, New York City) at 6:00 PM.

Francesca will be introduced to open the Gala, along with a montage video provided by Tuesday’s Children, of Picerno’s volunteer work with the organization and her dedication song to her father, “Turn It Into Love,” playing along with the video. Picerno will be singing what will be an extremely moving and heartfelt rendition of “God Bless America.”

Picerno has been a long-time supporter and spokesperson of the Tuesday’s Children organization and has talked about how her dad would sing to her and how they would sing together, how she’s stronger now, and how she can help others through her experience and her music, as evidenced by her new song/lyric video, ”Turn It Into Love,” which can be viewed here: http://youtu.be/a8a34XLE_B0

“Performing at the Tuesday’s Children Gala this year is such an honor,” says the singer. “Being a part of this organization for so many years and to finally be able to share my passion and story with everyone means so much to me. I can’t wait to meet everyone. It’s going to be a very special night.”
