Free Health Screenings for Veterans Saturday

Free health screenings to U.S. veterans on Saturday, May 7, at the PNC Bank Arts Center.

Holmdel, NJ - The New Jersey Hospital Association will be providing free health screenings to U.S. veterans on Saturday, May 7, at the PNC Bank Arts Center.

These screenings are available for free to any veteran regardless of insurance status. The screenings are being offered in conjunction with the N.J. Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Day Ceremony.

A team of U.S. veterans will work as Health Navigators, to help veterans fill out paperwork, talk to them and get them situated.

Where: The screenings will be performed in the Mobile Satellite Emergency Department, a fully equipped mobile medical facility parked at the Telegraph Hill Overflow Parking Lot at the PNC Bank Arts Center, Exit 116 of the Garden State Parkway, Holmdel.

When: May 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

How: No appointments are necessary. Health Navigators will be available outside the mobile facility to provide information, assistance and referrals to their fellow service members. Services available may include blood pressure screening, stroke risk assessment, blood glucose screening, behavioral health screening, referrals for additional services and peer support.

Later next week, they will be offering the same free screenings at McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst May 14 and 15 for the Power in the Pines Air Show.

The screenings are supported by Kennedy Health, with grant funding from the N.J. Department of Health.
