Freeholders Honor CBA Baseball Team

Members of the Christian Brothers Academy varsity baseball team were recognized by county officials for their state championship win.

Members of the Christian Brothers Academy varsity baseball team were recently recognized by county officials for their state championship win.

The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders recognized the team, from the private school in Middletown, for winning the 2015 New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Non-Public A Championship.

The freeholders presented team members with certificates at the board’s June 25 meeting.

“These dedicated young men should be very proud of their State Championship title,” Freeholder Director Gary J. Rich, Sr. said in a prepared statement. “Through hard work and dedication, they have brought honor to their schools, their families and the entire county.”

The Christian Brothers Academy Baseball team was coached Marty Kenney and assistants Joe LaRocca and Marty Kenney, Jr.

The team roster includes: Griffin Arnott, Andrew Buccellato, Kenneth Campbell, Luke Chece, GianLuca Dalatri, Matthew D’Angelo, Brendan Galvin, Joseph Gargana, Michael Garvey, Brandon Martorano, James Miller, William Morgan, John Paul Moschella, John Nelson, Ryan Nelson, Cid Porter, Brendan Shaw, Austen Tieri, Michael Triandafellos and Shane Turk.

“It is an honor and a privilege to celebrate your state championship title with you,” Freeholder John P. Curley, a graduate of CBA, said in a prepared statement. “I admire your tenacity and your abilities. You have all worked hard and we commend you for your well-deserved titles.”
