Garbage Truck Accident in Holmdel
A garbage truck door was not secured properly, and this was the scene at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday on Bethany Road.

Holmdel, NJ - The rear door of a local garbage truck was not secured properly, and this was the scene at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Bethany and Old Manor roads.
A Sakoutis Brothers Disposal garbage truck accidentally dumped a full load of garbage into the roadway, according to Holmdel police. The rear door to the truck was not secured properly, and when garbage in the truck was compacted it forced the door open, causing the truck to lose its load, police said.
Bethany Road between Hazlet Avenue and Old Manor Road was closed for four hours Tuesday morning so Sakoutis and the Holmdel Department of Public Works could clean the debris up. Multiple summonses were issued to Sakoutis and the driver of the truck, police said.
