'Grandparent' Scam Phone Call in Holmdel

Holmdel, NJ - Holmdel police are warning residents to be alert of the “grandparent” scam going on now.

A Holmdel resident reported Monday receiving a phone call where the caller claimed to be the resident’s grandchild and was in need of money for an emergency. The resident hung up the phone and did not give out any personal information, or send any money. Stay alert to this, police warn, and to any other callers who ask for personal information over the phone.
