Hazlet Chick-Fil-A Announces 2021 Opening Date
After years of delays, the brand-new Chick-Fil-A on Route 35 in Hazlet will open its doors on April 1.

HAZLET, NJ - After an almost three-year wait, fans of the iconic fried chicken chain can look forward to the grand opening of a Chick-Fil-A restaurant this April.
While approval for the new fast food site - located on Route 35 next to the Hazlet Cinemark 12 Theater - came in February 2017, onsite construction was delayed for years due to a company issue in receiving all necessary approvals.
The board issued a one-year extension for the project in 2019. In a statement posted to social media this week, owner and operator Brandon Jones announced that the grand opening of the Route 35 restaurant will take place on April 1.

According to township documents, the restaurant will offer 136 seats for indoor dining, a drive-thru window and 41 parking spaces.
Jones, who grew up in Monmouth County, announced the grand opening date as April 1 during a recent visit to the Hazlet Township Police Department headquarters.

“It was my pleasure to meet our Home Town Heroes led by Chief Wittke and his fellow officers,” Jones said in a statement via Facebook. “Me and my team members [at] Chick-fil-A look forward to serving the great town of Hazlet and surrounding communities of Northern Monmouth County as we strive to deliver service with excellence and care. Thanks Again Chief and the Hazlet Police Dept. for protecting and serving the great citizens of Hazlet.”
And while the brand-new location hasn’t even opened its doors yet, Jones is finding plenty of ways to stay busy while assisting the local community. Last week, Jones worked alongside the team members and operators from Chick-Fil-A restaurants in Old Bridge, Howell, Brick and Freehold Raceway Mall to prepare over 300 chicken sandwiches to feed local firefighters battling the extensive blaze that devastated nearly 167 acres in and around the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County.
