Hazlet Mom Wins Million-Dollar Lottery Friday

Breaking: Who's the latest million-dollar lottery winner in New Jersey? Your neighbor, a Hazlet mom and school lunch aide.

HAZLET, NJ — Who's the latest million-dollar lottery winner in New Jersey? Your neighbor, a Hazlet mom and school lunch aide.

Friday's top prize winner was Suzanne Valluzzi of Hazlet, who won with a Million Dollar Replay ticket. The New Jersey Lottery held the unveiling at the Asbury Park Convention Hall Friday, where fourteen winners in total had their names called out and were brought up on stage.

Valluzzi, 44, works as a substitute school lunch aide. She was almost too stunned to stand up and looked to her husband, Rocco Valluzzi , as he got up and cheered for her, according to lottery officials. She apparently told state lottery officials she thought she might faint when she learned she won.

The couple said their first priority with the money is to put it towards their 14-year-old son’s college fund, followed by catching up on current debts. The rest will go towards savings. Oh yeah, they also said they would take a vacation. The couple told the Asbury Park Press they play the lottery almost daily.

Congrats to the Valluzzi family of Hazlet!
