Hazlet MVC, 9 Other Sites To Operate As Appointment-Only
The Airport Plaza location will no longer allow walk-in appointments as of Nov. 2, officials said.

HAZLET, NJ - In an attempt to curb long lines following months of frustration among customers, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced that several sites, including the Hazlet location, will no longer allow walk-in appointments.
Starting Nov. 2, the Hazlet MVC - located at 1374 Route 36 in Airport Plaza - will operate under an appointment-only schedule. Other sites switching to appointment-only include Trenton, Manahawkin and Lakewood.
All out-of-state transfers will be only available by appointment at all MVC Licensing Centers. Appointments for registration/title transfers can be accessed here.

The six other offices in the state, East Orange, Newton, Runnemede, Trenton, South Brunswick and Washington, will accept walk-ins and appointments.
“I’m proud of the amazing volume of work processed by our team since reopening in July; shifting to an appointment system limits that capacity as well as our flexibility,” MVC Chief Administrator Sue Fulton said in a statement.
“However, in-person Vehicle Center Services – specifically, new registrations of privately purchased vehicles – have been steadily declining week to week, to the point where we believe that our appointment capacity can meet demand,” continued Fulton. “Unlike license transactions, these transactions have proven very consistent from customer to customer, so we can accurately predict how long each will take.”
