Hazlet MVC Closes Thursday After Report Of Illness

"A deep cleaning for added health and safety precautions was conducted due to a report of illness," MVC spokesperson William Connolly said.

HAZLET, NJ – Long lines will be a thing of the past for the Motor Vehicle Commission office in Hazlet today. Why, you ask? The office will be closed to the public all day.

According to a spokesperson from the New Jersey MVC, the agency is closed for cleaning after an illness at the location was reported. The office is set to reopen on Friday.

"A deep cleaning for added health and safety precautions was conducted due to a report of illness," MVC spokesperson William Connolly told Patch on Thursday. "Although the individual has not tested positive for COVID-19, we followed state protocol and closed the facility until it can be cleaned and sanitized pending test results. The Hazlet Vehicle Center will be open for business on Friday, July 17.”
