Hazlet PD Chief Appointed To Role At County Chiefs Association

Hazlet Township Police Chief Ted Wittke was recently appointed as the coordinator for the Rapid Deployment Force for Monmouth County.

HAZLET, NJ - A familiar face in Hazlet was recently selected to serve in an important role for law enforcement throughout Monmouth County.

Hazlet Township Police Chief Ted Wittke was appointed by the Monmouth County Chiefs of Police Association as the coordinator for the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) for Monmouth County on Jan. 27.

The force is made up of around 80 officers from Monmouth County police departments who are trained and equipped to respond to MOCERT activations, natural and manmade disasters, school and workplace violence, crowd control, demonstrations, incidents of civil disobedience, missing persons searches and open area suspect searches, according to a social media statement from the Hazlet Township Police Department.

The team will receive training in areas such as mobile field force operations, CBRNE operations, wildland search, special needs search, active shooter response, and advanced incident command.

The Monmouth County Chiefs Association is a collective of police chiefs throughout the area with the mission of fostering a partnership with the public and enhancing the professionalism of police throughout the county and state.

This year, the executive board is comprised of Howell’s Chief Andrew Kudrick (President), Manasquan’s Chief Michael Bauer (1st Vice President), Oceanport’s Chief Michael Kelly (2nd Vice President), Red Bank’s Chief Darren McConnell (Sergeant-at-Arms), Allenhurst’s Chief Michael Schneider (Secretary) and Colts Neck’s retired chief Kevin Sauter (Treasurer).
