Hazlet Police Created A Special Needs/Autism Registry For Use In Emergencies
Police encourage families to register if they are living with someone who may have a problem communicating with police in an emergency.

Hazlet police have created a Special Needs/Autism registry for use in emergencies.
Police say registration is confidential and voluntary, but they encourage families to register if they are living with someone who has Autism, Alzheimer’s Disease, or any other problem communicating with police in emergencies.
Last year, township police officers received training from Parents of Autistic Children, and that instruction helped officers on several occasions, police said.
