Hazlet Police Giving Out Tickets To Kids In Helmets

HAZLET, NJ — For the rest of the month of August, through Sept. 10, Hazlet police will be handing out "summonses" to kids who they see properly wearing their helmets while bike riding, skateboarding or on a scooter.

The tickets can be redeemed at Gem's House of Bagels, Perkins restaurant or Ralph's Italian Ices in Hazlet.

Please ensure that your children are wearing their helmets at all times while riding bicycles, skateboards, scooters or skates, and to be safe, police say. And thanks to those local Hazlet businesses for participating in a great initiative!
