Hazlet Starbucks Delays Opening By One Week, Rep Says

A Starbucks representative confirmed that the Rt. 35 location will now open to the public on Dec. 18, one week after its scheduled opening.

HAZLET, NJ - The highly anticipated Starbucks location opening in Hazlet will now open to the public one week after its scheduled opening.

The new site, located at 3201 Route 35, was originally slated to open Dec. 11, a Starbucks representative told Patch last month. As of Wednesday, that date was pushed back to Dec. 18.

"This store at 3201 Rt. 35 in Hazlet, NJ on is now scheduled to open on December 18, 2020," a spokesperson told Patch in a Wednesday morning email.

An explanation for the delayed opening was not immediately available.

The store will employ approximately 25 employees and will feature nitro cold brew taps in addition to classic Starbucks roasts. To apply for retail roles at the location, click here.

The new site, which sits in place of the former Hazlet Friendly's, is slated to split its over 4,000-square-foot property in half with another store.

According to an Asbury Park Press report, Wonderland Smoke Shop will be housed in the other half of the building.
