Heads Up: DWI Checkpoint In Hazlet Friday Night

This Friday night, July 26, the Monmouth County DWI Task force will conduct a DWI checkpoint in Hazlet.

HAZLET, NJ — This Friday night, July 26, the Monmouth County DWI Task force will conduct a DWI checkpoint in Hazlet.

The checkpoint will be run from 10 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m. Saturday on Hwy. 36.

Task force members and officers from the Hazlet police department will pull vehicles from the eastbound lanes into the Holy Family Church parking lot to determine a driver's sobriety,
said Allenhurst Police Chief Michael Schneider, task force coordinator.

They will be looking for drivers under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

Then on Saturday night, there will be a second DWI checkpoint in Allenhurst, run by the same task force.

Police will be pulling cars over from the northbound lanes of Main Street onto Elberon Avenue. This will be run from 9 p.m. Saturday through 1 a.m. Sunday.
