Holmdel Appoints New STEM Education Supervisor
One of her first jobs will be launching a new engineering course already in place this year at Holmdel High School.

Holmdel, NJ - This year, for the first time ever, the Holmdel school district has appointed its first "Supervisor of Technology, Engineering and Media Centers."
Caren MacConnell, a longtime Holmdel teacher and Technology Coach, has been named to the position, superintendent Dr. Robert McGarry announced Monday. And one of her first jobs will be launching a new engineering course already in place for this year at Holmdel High School. Her position will be in addition to Holmdel's current Supervisor of Math and Science, Alicia Killean.
The decision came after Holmdel assessed its approach to STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) over the past two years. Mrs. MacConnell is also tasked with finding ways to integrate more engineering courses across the K-12 curriculum.
