Holmdel Committee Member Resigns; Replacement Not Yet Named
Committeewoman Cathy Weber has resigned from the Township Committee to relocate with her family outside of Holmdel.

HOLMDEL, N.J.— Committeewoman Cathy Weber has resigned from the Township Committee, effective June 17, to relocate with her family outside of Holmdel.
No information was available as yet from the township on who may be appointed to fill Weber's spot on the committee.
Mayor Gregory Buontempo and the Township Committee presented Committeewoman Weber with a proclamation recognizing her service as well as the key to the township at the June 14 Township Committee meeting, according to a post on the township's Facebook site. Weber thanked the volunteers of the Holmdel community as well as the township staff and police department.

Weber praised the "incredible volunteers" who have made improvements in the town possible, as well as Holmdel staff. She made her comments in her resignation statement at the meeting.
First elected in 2019 and sworn into office in January 2020, Weber served as deputy mayor of the township in 2020 and 2021. During her tenure, she served as the liaison to the Recreation Committee, where she was a supporter of the Swim Club and other programs.

Weber also served as liaison to the Traffic & Bike Safety Committee (TABS). During her time working with that group, the township initiated its new Multi-use Trail Project, which will eventually connect Holmdel’s walking and bike paths throughout the township.
According to her official town bio, Weber is a 28-year resident of Holmdel and served for over three years on the Holmdel Board of Education. She is a co-founder of Preserve Holmdel and has led parent groups, Girl Scouts and the Holmdel Swim Team.
She holds an MBA from the Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University.
She and her family are moving to New London, N.H., and she will work for Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. She previously worked for Princeton University.
