Holmdel Garbage Truck Fire Most Likely An Accident: Fire Official
A photo sent to Patch of the fire shows what looks like spilled garbage burning on the street
HOLMDEL, NJ-- The garbage truck fire that snarled traffic in Holmdel last Friday was most likely an accident, a fire official told Patch.
"The exact cause of the fire could not be determined but there was no evidence to suggest the cause was nothing but accidental," David Olsen, a fire official and zoning officer in Holmdel, told Patch.

In an picture taken by 2nd Lieutenant Choromanski at Company #2, garbage can be seen spilling out of the back of the truck, burning on the street.

The fire began just before 4:00 PM on a football game Friday, resulting in detours, delays, and major traffic problems.
