Holmdel Girls Tennis Team Headed To Tournament Of Champions Final

HOLMDEL, NJ-- After winning State Group 2 championships, the Holmdel Girls tennis team made it to the Tournament of Champion finals.

A 5-0 win over Newark Academy on Tuesday secured the girls spot in Wednesday's final at the Garden State Tennis Center in Edison. They'll play the winner of Tuesday's Millburn-Ridge match.

“We are extremely proud of the consistently strong efforts of these young women and how they have represented Holmdel High School and have handled themselves with class and dignity throughout the season,” said Holmdel’s Athletic Director Shane Fallon. “Coach Chelednik and Coach Russell have done a tremendous job of leading and guiding our team on this journey.”

The team was led to victory today by Brianna Gibbs playing 1st Singles for the team, Alexandra Wojciak at 2nd Singles, Rita Vought at 3rd Singles, Emily Kong and Vicky Vought at 1st Doubles and Natalie Cipriano and Jaimee Ratkoski at 2nd Doubles.
