Holmdel High School Athletics Program Ranked in Top 5 of Group II Programs in State

The rankings were determined based on the 2015-2016 school year, and boys' and girls' soccer and the tennis teams were standouts.

Holmdel, NJ - Holmdel High School achieved a ranking of 5th in the state among all Group II schools in the ShopRite Cup competition, according to the high school's Supervisor of Athletics, Health and Physical Education Shane Fallon.

The rankings were determined based on performance during the 2015-2016 school year, and boys' and girls' soccer and boys' and girls' tennis teams were ranked as stand-outs.

The cup, presented by ShopRite and the NJSIAA (New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association), recognizes the top high school athletic programs in each of New Jersey's six group classifications. Six cups (one per group) are awarded at the conclusion of competition for fall, winter and spring seasons. Athletic programs accumulate points based on performance in championships in the 32 NJSIAA-sanctioned sports while schools also receive three additional points per season whenever none of their student-athletes or coaches gets disqualified from competition.
