Holmdel Police Save Overdose Victim

A Holmdel police officer used Narcan to save a man who had overdosed in a township home, police said.

A Holmdel police officer used Narcan to save a man who had overdosed in a township home, police said.

According to a news release from Lt. Michael Pigott:

Around 3:15 p.m. July 11, Holmdel police were sent to a Burgundy Drive home, after a resident called for help because of a probable drug overdose.

When Officer Michael Dowens arrived, he found the overdose victim in an upstairs bedroom.

The man was not breathing and had a weak pulse.

Dowens administered a dose of Naloxone and began rescue breathing.

A short time later, the man began to breath on his own.

Holmdel First Aid and MONOC took him to Bayshore Community Hospital for further treatment.
