Holmdel Police Welcome Newest Member At Her Graduation
Officer Gabrielle DeGroat gets extra support from her soon-to-be fellow officers at her graduation from the Monmouth County Police Academy.

HOLMDEL, N.J.— Officer Gabrielle DeGroat, soon to be the newest police officer in the township, had some extra cheering on at her graduation from the Monmouth County Police Academy.
Members of the department attended DeGroat's the ceremony Thursday as a way to welcome her, a police Facebook post said.
DeGroat was appointed to the force by the Township Committee on May 24. A date has not yet been set for her swearing in.

For the past 20 weeks, DeGroat attended the academy, graduating as a member of the 102nd Basic Course for Police Officers.
While attending the academy, DeGroat received instruction on topics including patrol concepts, criminal investigations, ethics, emergency medical care and physical training, among other areas.

The Holmdel Police Department Honor Guard presented the colors at the ceremony, the department said in the post.
