HOLMDEL, NJ - The Holmdel Township School District announced the completion of 2020 capital improvement projects during a dedicated ceremony last week. The projects, which began in 2018, are aimed at improving the district’s commitment to academics, athletics and the arts, according to a news release.

Construction was completed on time and on budget, officials said.

The district celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Oct. 1 at W.R. Satz Middle School and a ceremonial entrance lighting at Holmdel High School. Members of the Holmdel Board of Education were in attendance, including Board President Victoria Flynn, as well as interim superintendent Dr. Leroy Seitz.

"Holmdel 2020 is an initiative that we, as a board, have been working very hard on for years,” said Flynn. “It demonstrates the level of commitment and foresight that everyone on this board has. Being able to complete a project of this magnitude, at this time, and with the support of our community and administration, really sets us apart from any other school in the State of New Jersey.”

The $40 million capital improvement program includes new entrances at W.R. Satz Middle School and Holmdel High School, new 7th and 8th grade science labs, new Bob Roggy Memorial Stadium turf and a music room renovation at Satz. Other additions include new lockers, a media center, a main office addition at Satz, cafeteria improvements and new robotics and physics labs.
